Tissue sparing hip surgical approaches
MicroPort Orthopedics offers a streamlined instrumentation package for use with the Anterolateral (Watson-Jones) hip approach.
In order to improve postoperative recovery, minimally invasive total hip arthroplasty was developed. Continued efforts to improve postoperative recovery have led to subsequent refinements of these surgical techniques. To maximize functional recovery, the minimally invasive Anterolateral (Watson-Jones) hip approach was developed to minimize the postoperative dislocation rate while maintaining the abductor strength.
This minimally invasive Anterolateral (Watson-Jones) hip approach uses the classic Watson-Jones interval, but without detaching, cutting, or otherwise damaging the abductor. As stated above, MicroPort Orthopedics offers a streamlined instrumentation package for use with the Anterolateral (Watson-Jones) hip approach.
